A special prosecutor has been appointed to oversee the case of an Illinois state trooper who was arrested for DUI / DWI while driving an official vehicle.

Veteran Illinois state trooper Lyle G. Hicks was arrested for DUI / DWI and cited for speeding on Oct. 18 following an “incident,” but charges were not officially filed against him until Oct. 28.
