Football player Rey Maualuga enters not guilty plea in Kentucky DUI

Renowned Cincinnati Bengals linebacker Rey Maualuga has pleaded not guilty to charges of drunk driving in Kentucky.

The arrest happened in the early morning hours of January 29, 2010 following a minor incident.  According to local police, Maualuga hit a parking meter and two parked cars. Minor property damage resulted.

Maualuga was held in a local jail for about seven hours before being released on his own recognizance. He then entered a plea and was ordered to return for a hearing.

The driver was a popular player for the Cincinnati Bengals.  There has been no comment from the team’s spokesperson at this time.
