The recent case of the Arizona sheriff’s deputy who was reassigned after it was discovered that he failed to keep adequate records of Breathalyzers tests in DUI / DWI cases underscores the problems inherent with chemical tests in many drunk driving cases.

Pinal County sheriff’s deputy Cardest James was reassigned from his duties maintaining the department’s Breathalyzer machine after it was revealed that he failed to provide calibration and maintenance records for a 14- month period.
